XRP Price Poised for Massive Surge if CLARITY Act Clears Hurdles
XRP is poised for significant growth if the CLARITY Act passes in 2026, according to analyst Jake Claver. He points to two past moves in XRP's history as precedents for potential price increases. In 2017, when Ripple locked up its escrow, XRP gained about 70,000% in just 240 days, illustrating the impact of a major structural catalyst on the token's price. More recently, after Trump's election win in 2020, XRP surged from under $0.50 to nearly $3 in just 28 days, demonstrating how quickly sentiment can shift when a significant event occurs.
Claver believes that the CLARITY Act will 'ignite institutional adoption' and drive XRP's price higher. He notes that major institutions such as BlackRock, JPMorgan, Grayscale, and Goldman Sachs already support the bill, which includes provisions for stablecoins, DeFi protections, and ethics language to prevent presidential profiteering from crypto projects.
The legislative path still has hurdles ahead, however. The Senate version of the bill may differ from the House-passed version, requiring it to go back through the House for another vote. Even after passage, there's a signing period to account for, though Claver notes that if the president doesn't act within a certain window, the bill could become law without his signature.
