XRP Price Surges as Former Ripple CTO Predicts Potential Overtaking of Bitcoin
The price of XRP has risen by over 1% in 24 hours, aligning with the broader recovery in the crypto market on Saturday. This gain follows exchange-traded fund (ETF) inflows and is a positive sign for investors who had re-entered positions after a mild sell-off.
Despite the modest recovery, XRP's trading volume has increased by 28% to $3.2 billion over 24 hours. The token is currently trading near $1.3672, fluctuating within the mid-$1.30 range during recent sessions. Traders are closely monitoring XRP's movement between $1.31 and $1.34.
According to former Ripple CTO David Schwartz, XRP could potentially overtake Bitcoin if it grows faster than its larger counterpart. He believes that a larger overall crypto market could lift multiple top assets, highlighting XRPL's technical advantages in terms of higher transaction speed and functionality compared to Bitcoin's base layer.
