XRP Price Surges as Institutional Demand Continues Through Regulated ETFs
Ripple's XRP token price has increased by 1.66% to $1.52, outperforming the broader market which dipped by 0.35%. The price surge is attributed to sustained institutional demand through regulated exchange-traded funds (ETFs), with U.S. spot XRP ETFs recording a net inflow of $3.96 million on September 28.
The token has gained 70% from its August low, driven by a rapid shift in crypto market dynamics, geopolitical shifts, and the US Treasury's plan to adjust expectations for bond buying. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse pushed back on the idea that he only backs XRP, stating 'I'm not one of these people who's an XRP maximalist.' He emphasized his focus is on solving real problems rather than pushing a single token.
Traders said XRP's path is being shaped by conflicting forces: speculative futures trading pressures prices, while foundational network upgrades quietly build utility for institutions. The positive price move is anchored by ongoing institutional buying through regulated ETFs, with a cumulative inflow of $1.79 billion.
