XRP Price Takes Hit as Leverage Falls and Long Liquidations Rise
XRP's price has been under pressure in recent days, falling 1.7% to around $1.39 over the past 24 hours.
The decline comes despite a continued flow of money into US spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that hold XRP, with cumulative net inflows remaining at $1.68 billion and combined net assets of $1.48 billion.
According to CryptoQuant data, open interest in XRP fell 14% from $558 million to $478 million, while the estimated leverage ratio dropped from 0.203 to 0.182.
The selling has also been fueled by a sharp reduction in leveraged positions and long liquidations, with roughly $14.2 million in XRP positions being liquidated across two sessions.
