XRP Rebounds But Remains in Recovery Mode
XRP has rebounded from its summer lows, increasing by 54% to $1.54. However, despite this recovery, it still hasn't returned to its initial price at the beginning of the year.
The coin's short-term view is positive, with a 7.9% increase over the past week and 9.9% this month. In contrast, the longer-term perspective isn't as rosy, with XRP down 17.3% for 2026 and 45.8% over the past 12 months.
XRP's rebound has been swift, closing at $1.45 on August 21 and hitting an intraday high of nearly $1.70 a day later. The current price is roughly in the middle of a range it held from February to May.
Compared with its peers, XRP has shown stronger short-term performance, outperforming Bitcoin at 3.8% and Ethereum at 1.8%. Historically, XRP has also defended itself better than Ethereum, gaining 69.9% over five years while Ethereum lost 4.3% in that same timeframe.
Despite this, sellers have consistently capped XRP's rise at around $1.66, which it reached twice in late September. Breaking through this resistance level could open the door to a retest of the August high of $1.70.
