XRP Rich List Expansion: More Wallets Enter Elite Club

The XRP Ledger's Rich List has undergone significant changes over the past two years. According to screenshots posted by @uptownsaul, the number of wallets that qualify as 'rich' has increased, and it now takes less XRP to be considered part of this exclusive club.

Comparing the rankings from January 2024 and September 2026, we see a notable surge in the number of wallets. The top 10% band, which previously required approximately 3,333 XRP, now requires only about 2,120 XRP to qualify. This means that millions of new wallets have entered the scene, effectively diluting the value required to be considered 'rich'.

The growth in the number of wallets can be attributed to various factors, including new retail accounts, exchange and custody accounts, funds opening operational addresses, and holders splitting bags. The XRP Ledger does not differentiate between these types of wallets, so they are all counted as one account.
