XRP Rich List Thresholds Drop as Holder Base Expands
The XRP Rich List is showing a notable shift, with fewer XRP tokens needed to join the top percentiles. This trend is driven by a growing user base and declining prices, making it easier for investors to reach higher tiers. As more wallets join the XRP Ledger, the distribution of holdings changes, reducing the balance required for various percentile groups.
As of October 2, 2026, the top 1% of XRP holders requires at least 43,995 XRP, valued at approximately $67,753 at the current price of $1.54 per XRP. This is a significant drop from January 2024, when investors needed around 64,077 XRP to reach the same ranking. The number of accounts holding this amount has also increased, reflecting the expanding holder base.
Other key tiers show similar trends. The top 2% now starts at 21,500 XRP, worth roughly $33,110, while the top 4% requires at least 10,010 XRP, valued at $15,415. The top 10% threshold is set at 2,091 XRP, equivalent to about $3,221. Higher tiers demand much larger balances, with the top 0.5% starting at 79,752 XRP and the top 0.1% requiring at least 275,019 XRP.
At the highest level, the top 0.01% consists of only 820 accounts, each holding at least 3,784,253 XRP, worth approximately $5.83 million. This elite group includes major institutional wallets and long-term holders. The XRP Ledger's account base has grown by roughly 63% since early 2024, contributing to the declining XRP balance needed for several fixed percentile groups.
