XRP Set for Breakout as Key Upgrades and Institutional Developments Loom
XRP is set to enter a critical week in October, with several key events that could propel its price higher. On October 3rd, XRP Seoul will host a meeting between banks and Ripple, while the Evernorth deal is expected to be completed on October 7th. The next day, XRPN, a XRP treasury company, will start trading on Nasdaq with approximately 473 million XRP on its balance sheet. This could lead to a boost in institutional adoption for XRP, making Q4 an important period for the XRPL network's on-chain activity.
The XRP Ledger is set to undergo a major upgrade, with the XRPL Batch amendment (XLS-56) nearing completion. Over 85% of validators have already supported the amendment, which will empower the ledger to settle up to eight transactions atomically. This could significantly increase the network's capacity, particularly with the current average of 200 million transactions per quarter.
Trader positioning is also bullish, with Binance's top traders accumulating XRP long positions. This has skewed the long/short ratio in favor of the bulls, and if this inclination continues, it could serve as a powerful catalyst for Ripple's next move.
From a technical perspective, XRP has been consolidating around the $1.50 level for over four weeks, which often leads to a sharp move in either direction. However, with a catalyst-heavy week ahead and long positioning in place, this range could be setting up for a breakout.
