XRP Stumbles as Senate Fails to Vote on Clarity Act

XRP is facing uncertainty after the Senate's failure to vote on the Clarity Act, which would reclassify it as a commodity rather than a security. The token has been trading within a death cross formation and has fallen 2.05% in 24 hours to $1.02.

The delay in voting on the Clarity Act means that XRP remains in legal limbo, with no clear regulatory status. This uncertainty is reflected in the token's price chart, which shows a strong bearish trend since 2025 and a current downtrend.

Despite this, prediction market traders remain optimistic about XRP's short-term outlook, pricing in 77% odds that it stays above $1.00 at least over the weekend. However, if XRP falls below $1.00, the chart suggests that it could drop to as low as $0.9153.

Ripple, the company behind XRP, had been pushing for a clear regulatory answer on the token's status, and the Clarity Act would have provided this. The delay in voting means that the issue remains unresolved, at least until September.
