XRP Surges 15% as ETF Inflows, Stablecoin Growth, and Protocol Upgrade Align
XRP has seen a notable recovery from its weekly low, climbing approximately 15% in just two days and reaching its highest level since Tuesday. This rebound comes as Bitcoin reclaimed the $81,000 mark, Ethereum pushed above $2,600, and total cryptocurrency market capitalization reached $2.8 trillion.
The surge in XRP's price is attributed to a convergence of factors: sustained inflows into spot XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs), growing on-chain transaction volume, the rapid expansion of Ripple's USD stablecoin (RLUSD), and a technical setup indicating a potential golden cross. Spot XRP ETFs have continued to accumulate assets, adding $41 million in inflows during September, while RLUSD has grown to hold $2.37 billion in assets.
Transaction volumes on the XRP Ledger have also increased significantly, with 2,344,225 transactions processed in the most recent 24-hour period, an increase of roughly 8.9% from the prior day and above the 30-day average. The rapid growth of RLUSD is expected to continue, driven by corporate treasury, payroll, and cross-border payment use cases.
The XRP Ledger is also set for a significant protocol change with the activation of BatchV1_1 on September 29, if validator support holds above the required threshold. This amendment introduces atomic execution, allowing accounts to bundle up to eight transactions into a single batch, designed to prevent partial execution and pave the way for atomic swaps and institutional settlement flows.
