XRP Surges 30% as Bitcoin Breaks $72,000
XRP has experienced its strongest week in months after gaining 30% since last weekend's close under $1.
The rally began on Wednesday, when XRP surged 10.40%, its largest daily jump since February 6, and continued into Thursday with a second leg higher that pushed the weekly candle toward $1.32.
The move is attributed to Bitcoin's break above $72,000, fueled by a record short squeeze and a U.S. Treasury plan to double long-bond buybacks starting September 9.
However, despite XRP outperforming Bitcoin, its ETF inflows fell during the spike, and futures open interest has already dropped more than 11% from its rally-day peak.
