XRP Surges as Korean Trading Volume Beats Bitcoin
XRP's price climbed over 1.5% in the past 24 hours, reaching near $1.51, as trading activity spiked in South Korea. On Upbit, the XRP/KRW pair recorded a 24-hour volume of $72.3 million, surpassing Bitcoin's $66.4 million on the same exchange. The surge in Korean trading activity has significantly boosted XRP's price. This increase coincided with the launch of the XRP Asia organization during Korea Blockchain Week at the Grand Hyatt, which may have fueled local interest and trading volume.
The rise in XRP's price is also supported by sustained institutional demand through U.S. spot XRP ETFs. These funds saw another $4.74 million in weekly net inflows, marking the 12th consecutive week of positive inflows. Bitwise led the latest inflows with $2.11 million, bringing its cumulative net inflows to over $678.4 million.
Veteran trader Peter Brandt has identified a potential bullish reversal pattern in XRP, noting the formation of an inverse head-and-shoulders pattern around the $1.55 area. The key level for XRP is $1.55; breaking and holding above this could confirm the pattern and signal stronger buying pressure. If XRP breaks above the next major resistance near $1.6572, it could target $1.70, followed by $2.00. Brandt’s analysis compares the current setup to XRP’s earlier long-term breakout patterns.
Looking ahead, the expected launch of two XRP Ledger updates, Batch (V1.1) and Permission Delegation, around October 8-9, 2026, could impact XRP's price. These updates aim to make the network faster and more efficient for large transactions, potentially increasing its appeal to banks and other large companies.
