XRP Surges as Korean Trading Volume Tops Bitcoin
XRP surged by over 1.5% in the past 24 hours, reaching near $1.51, driven by a surge in trading volume in South Korea. The XRP/KRW pair on Upbit recorded $72.3 million in 24-hour volume, surpassing Bitcoin’s $66.4 million, signaling strong demand from Korean traders. The rise in activity coincided with the launch of the XRP Asia organization during Korea Blockchain Week, which may have fueled local interest.
Institutional demand for XRP also continues to grow, with U.S. spot XRP ETFs logging $4.74 million in weekly net inflows, marking the 12th consecutive week of positive inflows. Bitwise led the latest inflows with $2.11 million, bringing its cumulative net inflows to over $678.4 million.
Veteran trader Peter Brandt has identified a potential bullish reversal for XRP, with the cryptocurrency forming an inverse head-and-shoulders pattern around the $1.55 area. Brandt’s chart suggests that a confirmed breakout above this level could target $1.70, followed by $2.00. The next major resistance is near $1.6572, and breaking above this could signal stronger buying pressure.
The upcoming XRP Ledger updates, Batch (V1.1) and Permission Delegation, expected to go live around October 8-9, 2026, could further boost the network’s throughput and enterprise utility, potentially supporting token adoption and market impact.
