XRP Surges on ETF Inflows, Whale Accumulation, and Regulatory Uncertainty

XRP experienced a short-term surge of 3.61% over the past ~30 hours, driven by a combination of ETF inflows, whale accumulation, and derivatives positioning.

The move was attributed to increased buying activity from spot ETFs, which drew $1.55 million in net inflows on September 8, making XRP the only major asset with positive daily flows.

CryptoQuant metrics showed a significant increase in whale activity, with the Whale-Retail Spread jumping from 33% to 45.8%, indicating large-sized transfers growing faster than small ones.

The surge was also fueled by derivatives positioning, with XRP's perpetual funding rate rising from 0.0030% to 0.0098%, and long to short ratios on Binance and OKX favoring longs at over 2:1.
