$XRP Tackles Four-Year August Losing Streak

$XRP has struggled in August over the past four years, but this year might be different. According to CryptoRank, $XRP has finished every August since 2022 with losses, including a 13.6% drop in 2022, a 26.6% decline in 2023, and an 8.15% loss in 2025.

Crypto trader Zach Rector warned that August can be challenging for $XRP during U.S. midterm election years, with the token falling by an average of 14% during such periods.

However, a recent signal from CryptoQuant's multi-exchange open interest data suggests selling pressure is fading. The chart shows $XRP's open interest has dropped to levels last seen before the late-2024 rally, indicating that speculative leveraged positions have largely been cleared from the market.
