XRP Takes Top Spot in August Rebound with Higher Monthly Gain
XRP outperformed Bitcoin in August, recording a higher gain during both the full month and the late-month rebound. According to data from CoinMarketCap, XRP rose about 30 percent to $1.3790 on Aug. 31 from $1.0605 on July 31.
In contrast, Bitcoin rose around 25.1 percent to $78,548.63 over the same period. The gap between the two assets was more pronounced during the late-August rebound, with XRP jumping about 37.8 percent to $1.5222 on Aug. 23 from $1.1044 on Aug. 19.
XRP's gain was about 3.1 times Bitcoin's during this stretch. The difference in their returns continued to widen throughout August, with XRP eventually posting a 7-day gain of 45.67 percent on the 21st, compared to Bitcoin's 24.39 percent.
