XRP Tops List as Bitget Hackers Steal $157 Million
XRP was the most heavily impacted cryptocurrency in the recent Bitget exchange hack, which saw $157.4 million worth of XRP tokens stolen on September 25.
The hack also affected other assets, including Ethereum (ETH) and Binance Coin (BNB), with a total of $157.4 million drained from one of Bitget's hot wallets.
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen reassured users that their funds are safe, citing the exchange's User Protection Fund, which currently holds over $464 million.
XRP's price remained bullish in the aftermath of the hack, surging over 16% in the past seven days and trading at $1.56 at the time of reporting.
