XRP traders have taken some chips off the table, with open interest in XRP derivatives on Binance falling 15.3% from its six-month high, according to CryptoQuant.

This drop in open interest occurred over a stretch in late September, during which XRP's price slid about 5% from $1.66 to $1.57.

As of October 1, 2026, open interest on Binance XRP perpetuals stood at approximately $485 million, down from a high of around $600 million in September.

The research also points to balanced funding rates and long/short ratios among larger accounts, suggesting neither bulls nor bears are dangerously overextended.

Open interest had rebounded in September, climbing toward yearly highs near $600 million, but the current 15.3% pullback is effectively the market exhaling after that run.
