XRP Tumbles on Senate Delay, Clarity Act Now Set for September Vote

The Senate's delay in voting on the Clarity Act has left XRP at a crossroads, causing its price to drop 2.05% to $1.02. This is the only red coin among the top 10 major assets, with every other major token staying green.

The delay of the market-structure bill until at least September is not just procedural for XRP. The token's entire 2025-2026 rally thesis rested on the U.S. finally deciding what XRP is, and the Clarity Act would sort crypto into securities and commodities, reclassifying XRP as a non-security under the CFTC.

This reclassification is seen as a preferable option by crypto industry observers, and Ripple's co-founder has been pushing for it through years of litigation against the SEC. The token's price trajectory shows a clean, grinding downtrend since 2025, with the 50-day EMA crossing below the 200-day EMA in a formation known as a death cross.
