XRP Validator Warns of Tokenized Stocks Risks and Yield Promises
XRP Ledger validator Vet, aka Hussain Zangana, has issued a warning to users about tokenized stocks and yield-generating products on the network. He emphasized that simply because a token is issued on the XRP Ledger does not mean it's safe or legitimate.
'Anyone can issue a token; that alone carries no credibility,' Vet said. This caution comes as tokenized real-world assets continue to expand on the XRP Ledger, with former Ripple CTO David Schwartz predicting that enterprises will increasingly use XRPL to tokenize stocks, securities, money market funds, and loans.
Vet advised users to investigate the entity behind a token, including its reputation, jurisdiction, and custodians. He also suggested determining whether the underlying assets actually exist and if the tokens genuinely represent the equities they claim to track.
