XRP vs Dogecoin: Supply Rules Could Drive 200-Fold Difference in Value by 2030
XRP and Dogecoin are two cryptocurrencies that have different supply rules. By 2030, these rules could lead to vastly different values for equal-sized stacks of each coin.
Holding 10,000 XRP is currently worth around $14,900, while holding the same number of Dogecoins is worth roughly $900. This disparity in value can be attributed to the supply dynamics of each network.
XRP has a fixed maximum supply of 100 billion coins, with about 63 billion already in circulation. In contrast, Dogecoin has no maximum supply and generates new coins at a rate of around 5 billion per year, resulting in an annual inflation rate of approximately 3.4%.
Standard Chartered analyst Geoffrey Kendrick has set a target price of $28 for XRP by 2030. If achieved, this would mean that 10,000 XRP could be worth between $10,000 and $280,000. However, even at Dogecoin's best-case scenario, reaching its 2021 peak, the value of 10,000 coins would still fall short of the lower end of the potential range for 10,000 XRP.
