XRP Whale Transactions Soar 280% in 24 Hours
XRP whale transactions have seen a significant surge in August 2026, with over 38 transactions exceeding $1 million within a 24-hour window. This represents a 280% increase in large-value activity compared to baseline levels.
The XRP Ledger recorded these high-value transactions, which typically track transfers above $100,000 and above $1 million. The latter threshold is more meaningful as it filters out mid-size traders and focuses on institutional players or very large individual holders.
Earlier in the year, in January 2026, transaction spikes for transfers of $100,000 or more jumped from 2,170 to 2,802 in a single day. This sudden activity is similar to the current report, rather than a gradual build-up.
The month of August has already seen large XRP holders accumulate over 380 million tokens in a single week, suggesting they were positioning before the current transaction spike, not reacting to it.
