XRP Whales Fuel Ripple's Partnership with BlackRock and Securitize
Ripple has made a significant announcement in collaboration with Securitize, allowing holders of BlackRock's BUIDL and VanEck's VBILL to exchange their shares for Ripple's native stablecoin (RLUSD) instantly, 24/7.
The new smart contract adds an additional stablecoin off-ramp for these tokenized short-term treasury funds, which are the first products from TradFi giants on public blockchains. This integration aims to provide investors with 'continuous exposure to RLUSD while preserving exposure to on-chain yield and a broader range of DeFi strategies,' according to Ripple.
Ripple's SVP of Stablecoins, Jack McDonald, commented that RLUSD is for institutional use, offering regulatory clarity, stability, and real utility. Securitize plans to integrate with the XRP Ledger to expand access and bring new utility to its broader ecosystem.
In related news, popular analyst Ali Martinez noted that XRP whales have been actively buying tokens in recent days, acquiring over 470 million tokens (valued at $724 million) within a five-day timeframe. This buying spree coincides with the Ripple announcement, and an inverse head-and-shoulders pattern is forming on the daily chart.
