XRP Whales Keep Buying Amidst Ripple-BlackRock Partnership Announcement
Ripple has made a significant announcement in partnership with Securitize, allowing holders of BlackRock's BUIDL and VanEck's VBILL to exchange their shares for Ripple's native stablecoin, RLUSD. The new smart contract provides an additional off-ramp for the tokenized short-term treasury funds from TradFi giants.
The integration is designed to unlock greater utility and flexibility for tokenized assets, as holders can now gain continuous exposure to RLUSD while preserving their on-chain yield and DeFi strategies. Ripple's SVP of Stablecoins, Jack McDonald, stated that 'RLUSD is for institutional use, offering regulatory clarity, stability, and real utility.'
XRP whales have been actively buying the asset in recent days, with over 470 million tokens (valued at around $724 million) acquired within a five-day period. This follows a previous accumulation spree where they purchased over 1.5 billion tokens in just 96 hours.
