XRPL Advances AI Payments and Wallet Interoperability

The XRP Ledger Foundation has made significant updates to advance the use of the XRP Ledger in AI-driven payments and digital wallet interoperability. The foundation has integrated the Open Wallet Standard, which allows developers to create wallets capable of holding addresses for multiple blockchain networks within a single encrypted vault.

This upgrade enables agents to request signatures and handle transactions from XRPL through a consistent interface, streamlining the development of wallet applications that span multiple blockchain systems.

The update also equips XRPL to support the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), which allows services using MPP to send 402 payment requests, prompting AI agents to authorize payments before granting access to requested resources.
