XRPL has reached an impressive milestone of processing over 10 million payments via the x402 protocol, which enables machine-to-machine transactions. This significant growth comes just three months after the network hit its first 1 million x402 payments.
The recent data shows that XRPL is handling more than 500,000 x402 payments per day on average, a notable increase in network activity. The x402 protocol allows AI agents to automatically make payments as part of an online request, without human intervention.
While the 10 million payment milestone indicates growing network usage, it does not necessarily translate to direct demand for XRP. However, if AI agents opt for XRP over RLUSD for their transactions, it could create a tangible economic value and drive up the token's price.
