XRPL Upgrade to Bundle Up to 8 Transactions on October 9
The XRP Ledger (XRPL) is set to undergo an upgrade on October 9, which will enable the bundling of up to eight transactions in a single submission. This upgrade, known as BatchV1_1, implements the XLS-56 standard for grouped execution and is expected to reduce the risk of only part of a trade completing. The upgrade is currently supported by 30 out of 35 trusted validators, which is equivalent to 85.71%.
The Batch execution mode allows for different ways to handle success and failure, with four different settings available. This feature can be useful for buyers and sellers who want to exchange payment for a digital asset, as it allows for an all-or-nothing batch to be made conditional on success. If either step fails, neither transfer will take effect.
However, it's worth noting that bundling does not eliminate processing costs, and the combined charge includes the underlying fees, an overhead charge, and applicable signature charges. During September's transaction record, failed attempts still incurred XRP fees.
