XRPL Voting Opens for New Lending Protocol Amendment
RippleX has opened voting for the LendingProtocolV1_1 technical amendment among independent validators across the XRPL network. This amendment introduces closed-ended vaults and cash-basis accounting for XRPL lending, which must activate before other related amendments can proceed.
The initiative aims to embed native lending capabilities directly into the XRP Ledger architecture. The RippleX team reported that this modification builds on previous specifications, defining operational rules for single-asset vaults and fixed-term lending.
With LendingProtocolV1_1, users can execute continuous deposits and withdrawals at any time with open vaults. However, closed vaults have a predefined life cycle featuring three sequential stages: subscription, investment, and settlement.
