XRPN Shares Surge 273% Ahead of Evernorth Merger
Armada Acquisition Corp. II, a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) set to merge with Evernorth, has seen its shares skyrocket. Traded under the ticker symbol XRPN, the stock surged approximately 273% in the past week, reaching a high of $53 before closing at $39.42. The merger, expected to finalize on October 7th, follows the completion of all remaining conditions.
Evernorth, the company Armada will merge with, plans to hold a substantial reserve of 473 million XRP. At the current XRP price of $1.51, this reserve is valued at around $714 million. However, Evernorth previously acquired 84.4 million XRP for $214.1 million, with a contract extending until the end of 2025. The current value of this XRP holding is approximately $127 million.
While the surge in XRPN stock may be influenced by expectations surrounding XRP, other factors are at play. Armada had $241.2 million in funds as of June, with only $48 million allocated for the merger. This suggests that around 80% of the funds could be returned to shareholders opting to withdraw.
