XRP's 46% Rally May Be Short-Lived as Fed Meeting Looms
XRP has had a remarkable 90-day run, surging 46% in value, but the upcoming Federal Reserve meeting on October 28 may put the brakes on this momentum. The Fed is expected to raise interest rates, which could negatively impact XRP since it pays no interest or dividends. Currently, XRP is priced at $1.49, down 2.5% today, but it has grown 40% over 60 days, climbing from a low of around $1.09 in August.
XRP's 46% rebound has not fully recovered its losses this year, as it is still down 17.6% for 2026. In contrast, Bitcoin has fallen only 3.5% and Ethereum by 9.5%. This raises the question of whether XRP's recent rally will continue or falter under the pressure of a possible interest rate hike.
The token still has a long way to go to recover, having dropped 47.2% over the past year, compared to 24.7% for Bitcoin and 35.2% for Ethereum. Additionally, it's trading 59% below its all-time peak of $3.65, reached on July 17, 2025. To return to that price, XRP would need to climb by 145%.
