XRP's BTC Battle Intensifies as Rally Hits Crucial Relative Strength Test
XRP's recent rally has put its relative strength against Bitcoin back into focus. The XRP/BTC pair provides a direct measure of XRP's performance compared to the world's largest cryptocurrency, separating momentum specific to XRP from gains occurring across the broader crypto market.
Currently, Binance market data show XRP/BTC around 0.00001768 BTC, equivalent to roughly 1,768 satoshis per XRP. The pair has gained approximately 4.2% over 24 hours after trading between roughly 0.0000177 and 0.0000190 BTC.
XRP's history shows that major advances against the dollar have not always produced sustained strength against Bitcoin. In fact, during the 2017-early 2018 cycle, XRP surged both against the dollar and Bitcoin before the move eventually reversed.
Another major move developed during 2021 when XRP climbed from approximately $0.22 to a yearly high around $1.97. However, XRP/BTC also experienced periods of strong relative performance during that cycle, but those advances were followed by extended periods in which Bitcoin regained strength against XRP.
