XRP's Golden Cross Setup Complicated by Its 16-Year History
XRP's 50-day moving average is about 2% below its 200-day average, the closest it has been since August 2024. This setup resembles a golden cross pattern, which chart analysts consider bullish for long-term gains.
However, a review of XRP's history found that all 16 previous golden crosses were followed by a death cross within 12 months, with six of them failing to survive three months. While five of the 10 crosses that reached the three-month mark produced gains ranging from 85% to over 1,000%, the other half recorded losses as high as 32%.
Bitcoin's dominance rate has dropped below 59%, indicating a potential rotation into altcoins. XRP USD is currently trading near $1.26-$1.27, which aligns with the 200-day moving average and former range support.
