XRP's Price Surge Hinges on Crypto Market Growth, Not Just Ripple's Performance
XRP's recent price surge of 46% over the past three months has sparked renewed discussions about its potential for growth. Despite this impressive increase, XRP is still down 17% for the year and has declined by 46% compared to last year.
The quarter's performance was driven by buyers returning to the market after a challenging year, with August and September being crucial in boosting XRP's price. However, momentum has diminished recently, with XRP's price only increasing by 10% in the past month.
For XRP to rise significantly, there needs to be either a transfer of funds from other cryptocurrencies or an influx of new money into the entire crypto market, which is currently valued at $2.9 trillion. Currently, XRP's market capitalization stands at roughly $97 billion, based on its price and an estimated circulation of around 63 billion coins.
Realistically, XRP could aim for a price range between $1.75 and $2 by the year's end, translating to a 14% to 31% increase from its current value. Surpassing $2 may require substantial growth in the entire crypto market, which is yet to be seen.
