XRP's Regulatory Limbo Deepens as Institutional Adoption Grows
The Senate's CLARITY Act, which aims to classify XRP as a commodity rather than a security, is facing an uncertain fate. With only about 51 confirmed or likely votes in favor of the bill, out of the 60 needed for it to advance, the token's regulatory status remains unresolved.
The delay in voting has allowed institutional adoption to quietly accelerate. The Central Bank of Ireland recently approved a significant tokenisation initiative by Aviva Investors, one of the largest asset managers globally, which will issue a tokenised share class of its USD liquidity fund on the XRP Ledger.
Ripple's partnerships with major financial institutions, including Mastercard and JPMorgan, have been expanding. The company has also launched Mint, a platform for institutions to issue, redeem, and manage RLUSD stablecoin via web console or API, in addition to signing an agreement with Notabene to make RLUSD payments compliance-ready for banks.
ETF flows into XRP spot ETFs have reached a record $1.5 billion, but the token's value continues to slide, down 42.35% on an annual basis and 67.92% below last August's 52-week high of $3.37.
