XRP's SEC Victory Sets Stage for Institutional Demand Surge
After years of litigation, XRP's official legal status in the United States has been secured by the final ruling in the SEC case. In August last year, Ripple brought the proceedings to a close, effectively eliminating compliance risks for conservative U.S. funds.
This clear legal status is a significant factor behind institutional demand for XRP. The launch of spot ETFs has provided deep liquidity to the market, which absorbed large sell-offs without putting the price chart through shock therapy. For example, when Goldman Sachs sold its $153.8 million position at the beginning of the year, the market absorbed the entire volume within just two weeks.
The real, measurable on-chain turnover of the XRP Ledger has also reached $500 billion over the past 12 months, supporting the XRPL economy with tangible financial metrics rather than speculative promises. The network currently hosts the native RLUSD stablecoin with a volume of $1.6 billion and another $4 billion in tokenized U.S. Treasuries.
XRP's strict tokenomics model is another reason for its appeal, with a capped supply of 100 billion and no technical possibility of issuing more. The network has already permanently burned 14 million XRP through transaction fees, while Ripple's public escrow release schedule protects investors from sudden dilution.
