X's Cashtag Trading Goes Live in US, Connecting Users to Brokerage Partners

X's Cashtag Trading Is Now Live, Allowing Users to Trade Stocks and Crypto Directly from the Platform.

The feature, which is part of X's Cashtag Partner Program, connects users with their preferred brokerage partner, allowing them to trade stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies without leaving the platform. The program has five launch partners: Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Gemini, Kraken, and Coinbase.

The rollout of this feature comes after X introduced Smart Cashtags in April 2026, which turned familiar dollar-sign tickers into interactive pages with live charts and curated post feeds. This new trading feature is a major step towards making X a central source for monetary transactions, as stated by the company's roadmap.

The integration of crypto trading is notable, with three of the five launch partners being crypto-native exchanges: Coinbase, Gemini, and Kraken. Gemini confirmed that its connection through X covers stocks and five named cryptocurrencies: ZEC, HYPE, BTC, ETH, and SOL.
