Yusko Dumps 90% Of Solana Holdings, Warns Of Pain For BTC
Mark Yusko, founder and chief investment officer of Morgan Creek Capital Management, recently made headlines after revealing his significant exposure to Bitcoin (BTC) and other BTC-adjacent investments. According to him, about half of his net worth is invested in these assets, which is five times the amount he recommends for average investors.
Yusko emphasized that younger savers should prioritize protection against equity risk and devaluation over fixed-income risk, suggesting it could be 'against the law' for those under 35 to own bonds. He also expressed concerns about Solana's (SOL) governance tokens, stating they are 'kind of scammy' because users have no right to network fees.
Yusko sold nearly all his shares in Solana after realizing a return of around 1,000 times the amount invested, but he remains bearish on Bitcoin in the near term. He believes the market is 'super, super overbought' and predicts a cycle low for BTC around October 5, 2026, with a possible price drop to $60,000 before rising again.
Notably, Yusko still holds significant exposure to Bitcoin, which he thinks is too expensive. He estimates the fair value of Bitcoin to be close to $105,000 but acknowledges that it could drop below the cost of electricity used for mining, around $58,000.
