Zano Blockchain Erases Month of History Amid Inflation Bug Fix
The Zano blockchain has been hit by an inflation bug that allowed unauthorized issuance of both ZANO and fUSD, a dollar-pegged stablecoin. The team identified Gateway Addresses as the vulnerability point but assured users that wallet spend keys or transaction privacy were not compromised.
In response to the issue, the Zano team decided to roll back one month of chain history after its latest hard fork to block height 3,833,000. This unprecedented measure erased approximately a month's worth of transactions from the blockchain.
The Freedom Dollar project acknowledged that several million dollars' worth of assets held by them were exchanged for counterfeit fUSD and announced that they would absorb the losses caused by this incident.
