Zano Reboots Blockchain After Exploit Allows Unauthorized Tokens

Zano's blockchain was restarted at block 3,833,000 after an exploit allowed unauthorized tokens to enter circulation. The incident removed around one month of network history.

The Gateway Address vulnerability enabled malicious actors to create and circulate ZANO and Freedom Dollar (fUSD) tokens without compromising wallet keys. This occurred despite the team's efforts to address concerns raised by users in August.

MEXC, a major exchange, suspended deposits and withdrawals for both ZANO and fUSD while services migrate to the recovered chain. The Zano core team assured that reimbursement would come from developer funds, team holdings, and large holders without issuing additional tokens.
