Zcash Defies Broader Downturn with 16% Price Surge
Zcash (ZEC) has defied the broader cryptocurrency market's downturn with a remarkable 16% price surge over the past 24 hours. This outperformance follows the failure of the CLARITY Act in the Senate and the Federal Reserve's interest rate hike. As Bitcoin momentarily dipped below $75,700 before rebounding to above $76,500, Ethereum also showed resilience at around $2,440.
Zcash has been bolstered by a reported 14% increase in trading volume, indicating heightened market participation. The token has consistently demonstrated its ability to separate from broader cryptocurrency trends during recent market downturns.
Rising shielded transactions and a bullish consolidation pattern on the daily chart suggest that ZEC may continue to move towards $1,750. However, weakening social activity poses a potential warning sign, as online mentions of Zcash have declined and its seven-day moving average appears to be crossing below the 30-day average.
Zcash's price strength is also reflected in its significant year-to-date appreciation, with a gain of approximately 163% since the beginning of the year. This has placed it among the strongest-performing large cryptocurrencies.
