Zcash's price surge of 15% to about $1,170 on September 6 led to a significant increase in liquidations across the crypto market. The total liquidation amount reached $212 million, with short positions accounting for approximately $156 million.

ZEC was responsible for the largest share of liquidations, with over $45.32 million in losses. Ethereum followed closely behind, with $35.16 million in liquidations, while Bitcoin and Arbitrum recorded $16.79 million and $12.93 million respectively.

The record derivatives exposure in ZEC perpetual futures, which reached a high of around $2.4 billion on September 4, contributed to the massive liquidation wave. The price rally also led to a significant increase in Grayscale's Zcash Trust inflows, with at least $34.4 million drawn into the fund since its August 25 debut.

The market structure remains defined by record derivatives exposure and ETF inflows, despite the latest rally not reaching ZEC's all-time high of $3,191.93.
