Zcash Prepares for Block Time Boost with NU7 Upgrade

The Zcash Foundation has announced the release of Zebra 7.0.0-rc.0, which is the first release candidate for NU7, the next upgrade to the Zcash network.

This upcoming update is expected to bring several improvements, including a reduction in block times from 75 seconds to just 25, and new limits on shielded transactions to protect wallets from spam.

The testnet activation for NU7 has been set at block height 4,465,026 and is expected around October 6th. Node operators are urged to upgrade before this date to ensure a smooth transition.
