Zcash Prepares for Performance-Boosting NU7 Testnet Upgrade

Zcash is preparing to launch its NU7 testnet upgrade on October 6, 2026. This update will significantly improve the performance of the network, reducing the average time for the first confirmation from 75 seconds to just 25 seconds.

The upgrade will also introduce new limits for shielded transactions, protecting wallets from spam attacks. The activation height for the mainnet is expected to be set on October 20, 2026.
