Zcash Price Growth: Has it Reached its Ceiling?
The price of Zcash (ZEC) has increased significantly over the past year, climbing from $60 to $1,500. However, Grayscale argues that this growth does not necessarily mean ZEC has reached its valuation ceiling.
According to Grayscale's research, ZEC's market capitalization now accounts for around 1.5% of Bitcoin's (BTC) market cap, up from less than 0.1%. While this may seem like a substantial increase, it is still relatively small compared to other major cryptocurrencies such as XRP, which currently represents nearly 6% of Bitcoin's market cap.
Grayscale believes that Zcash's rise should be viewed in the context of its history of competition within the digital-currency sector. The firm argues that privacy is a key factor in ZEC's growth, and that as digital surveillance and analysis become more sophisticated, demand for privacy-focused assets like Zcash may increase.
