Zcash Price Surge Fuels Mining Boom and Record Hashrate
Zcash has seen significant price gains over the past two weeks, surging nearly 17% in one day to reach $979. This sudden increase in value has led to a massive boom in Zcash mining profits and hashrate.
The network's computational power peaked at 27.9 GSol/s on August 28th, with the current hashrate operating at 91% compared to its all-time high. The increased profitability of ZEC mining is evident, with the most profitable ASIC miner being Bitmain's Z15 Pro.
The Z15 Pro produces 840 KSol/s and is currently sold out on Bitmain's shop, but can be found through resellers for a premium above the list price of $4,999. With current ZEC prices, a Z15 Pro can make an estimated $59.09 per day in profit.
The profitability of Zcash mining is largely driven by the token's rising value, rather than any specific vision or goal. If ZEC's price were to take a hit, much of the hashpower could disappear just as quickly.
