Zcash Price Surge Triggers Massive Short Squeeze
Zcash's price surge has left traders who bet against it reeling. The cryptocurrency traded as high as $1,051 on September 4, 2026, after a sharp rally from a low of $805 on September 3, 2026.
The rapid increase in price caught those betting against Zcash off guard, with about $13.24 million in leveraged positions liquidated over the past 24 hours. This includes $11.26 million from shorts and $1.98 million from longs, according to CoinGlass data.
As a result of this short squeeze, Zcash now faces a 562% liquidation imbalance between its short and long positions.
