Zcash Price Volatility Continues Ahead of November Upgrade

Zcash has entered October after a rapid September advance and a steep pullback. The price of ZEC is currently around $1,300 to $1,340, down roughly 19% over seven days.

The next network upgrade, NU7, is approaching testnet on October 6 at block 4,465,026, with a mainnet decision due on October 20. The tentative November 5 mainnet upgrade will cut target block spacing from 75 seconds to 25 seconds.

A successful test and mainnet commitment are necessary for a price recovery, while a failed test or another round of selling could deepen the retreat. The Zcash Foundation's release note states that public testnet should reach the NU7 activation at height 4,465,026 around October 6.
