Zcash Rockets to New Heights on SEC Probe Closure and Grayscale ETF Launch
Zcash has been one of the standout performers in 2026, breaking above $1,000 in early September and hitting a fresh multi-year high of roughly $1,249. The move came with heavy derivatives activity, including large short positions that were forced to close as the price climbed.
The Zcash Foundation had faced a multi-year inquiry by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which was closed without enforcement action in January 2026. This removed a long-standing overhang on institutional participation.
Additionally, the launch of the Grayscale Zcash Trust ETF (ZCSH) on NYSE Arca in August 2026 has pulled in several hundred million dollars in assets within weeks.
