Zcash Soars Above $1,600 as European Investment Product Launches
Zcash has seen a significant price surge in recent days, rising above $1,600 after a series of sharp increases. The cryptocurrency's price momentum predates the introduction of a new European investment product, which offered investors an additional avenue to gain exposure to ZEC without taking on direct ownership risks.
The 21Shares European Zcash ETP launched on September 21 with $100,212 in assets and 5,000 securities outstanding. The physically backed product is designed for European investors and trades under the ticker ZCASH. Each share represents actual ZEC held in custody on behalf of investors.
Investors are subject to a 2.5% annual product fee, which impacts returns relative to holding ZEC directly. The new ETP offers streamlined access to Zcash within an established financial framework for those unable or unwilling to manage direct crypto holdings.
