Zcash Soars Past $1,480 Ahead of NU7 Upgrade

Zcash's price surged to an all-time high above $1,480 following a series of governance updates and strong market momentum. The development teams scheduled the NU7 mainnet upgrade for November 5.

The NU7 upgrade will reduce Zcash's average block interval from 75 seconds to just 25 seconds, increasing transaction throughput and efficiency on the network. The implementation of the Network Sustainability Mechanism (NSM) aims to support long-term resilience by gradually releasing previously removed token supply starting in February 2031.

The upgrade is expected to have minimal impact on wallet services, but full node operators, indexers, and explorer platforms may require technical adaptations.
